Thu Thiem Plaza

Design for a central plaza and riverside park at the Thu Thiem new urban development area in Ho Chi Minh City that will be used for 200 000 residents and a dynamic city.The design includes Saigon River embankments, Crescent Park (9 ha) and Central Plaza (20 ha) with parking garages.
There will be many public spaces: offices, car parking, train station, etc. The plaza is the starting point of the new 360m-length pedestrian bridges over the Saigon River, connecting Thu Thiem to District 1.
The project refers to the region’s Cham glorious past through the ground surface treatment.
Thu Thiem peninsula establishes a meeting point between water and earth.
It is a park with tree shades as an attractive and representative city center for the 21st century.
The vegetation from the Mekong delta and the system of water and wind give the plaza a sense of a sustainable public space.
