Lao Cai Pagoda and Spiritual Park
Lao Cai, Vietnam
The challenge is both strategic and spiritual.
At the gate of China, friendly neighbouring country, the site visually overlooks the major economic access road connecting Vietnam and China separated by the Red River, the Customs Goods Transit Zone and the Kim Thanh Bridge. We are geographically in the heart of the valley on a site visible from the city of Lao Cai, on a hill perfectly focused on a transverse valley overlooking the Sapa/YTy area and Mount Fansipan.
At this particular location, the project reconciles, with respect and intelligence, economic and religious dynamism. It proposes a subtle development of the hill, attentive to the existing nature, the geography, the climate and the environment, with sobriety, without aggressiveness, without ostentation, without being larger and more important than the Chinese pagoda projects in the vicinity.
