In Jianhu, our vision aims to intensify the poetry of the «genius loci», the thousand-year-old beauty of human dwelling with the winding banks and the reflection of the lake according to the times of the day and the seasons.
Running urbanization, climate changes and ecological and industrial crisis to come require humility to preserve identity of the site and its lakeside, which strongly bears the traces of its thousand-year-old past.
The issue is to find the urban and landscape tools that organize and contain the geometric and mineral aspect of the city by offering a unique setting, an unobstructed view of the geography of the mountains and of the suppleness of the banks of Lake Jian.
It is about delineating and clarifing the endless urban extension with simple landscape arrangements (set up a «toolbox» for the layout of spaces) to control the uncontrolled fragmentation of space since last decades.
