Architecture Vietnam
Cultural Center and Museum
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The project aims to create a unique cultural site matching the specificity and culture of HCMC. Its programmatic montage, its management strategy, its
architectural and urban ambition give the project a manifesto dimension.
In particular, the study demonstrates the building’s
ability to integrate the multiplicity and
richness of public and private uses.
Besides, the deliberate functional diversity of the building is amplified by an innovative programming favoring the hybridization of the cultural and commercial functions.
The climatic and geographical characteristics of HCMC demand adaptive
arrangements at different urban, landscape, architectural
and interior design scales.
Three
crucial issues are the base of a manifesto
project:
- To mutate a site by relying on the existing.
- To design a climate project.
- To organize an ecosystem of functions (cultural
hub).
